CIEL is a composer whose practice moves fluidly between media-based composition and concert-oriented musical works. Their professional background includes composing original scores for documentary films, in which they explored the reggae genre as a new and previously uncharted area of their musical practice. This exploration involved engaging with reggae-based song formats as a means of expanding stylistic vocabulary while supporting narrative flow, atmosphere, and emotional nuance within documentary film contexts. In this setting, CIEL approaches music as both an experimental and structural element, aligning stylistic choices with visual storytelling and thematic intent.In addition to film work, CIEL has contributed to poetry musicalization events by composing an opening piece that functions as an autonomous musical work rather than a direct setting of poetry. This composition, written for string quartet, is conceived as a standalone piece and draws its primary inspiration from a visual artwork, translating pictorial elements and atmospheres into musical form. The work emphasizes timbral exploration, harmonic direction, and formal coherence, positioning the music as an independent artistic statement within the broader event context.Currently, CIEL is working on a music video project as a producer, with a primary role in mixing and mastering. This phase of work reflects an expanded creative scope, integrating compositional thinking with sound production and ensuring that artistic intent is carried consistently from initial concept to final audio-visual realization.
